The how of Sportsfun
The program should offer
skill based and modified sport experiences. A variety of modified sports can be
taken during Sportsfun.
The ASC has developed a series of 14 sport-specific Companion Books or a DVD to assist people with limited experience in delivering sport- specific programs. Each companion book has been developed with the respective National Sport Organisation. These sports include:
- Basketball
- Circus Skills
- Cricket
- Dance
Frisbee - Golf
- Gymnastics
- Hockey
- Lawn Bowls
- Martial Arts
- Netball
- Rugby League

- Softball
- Volleyball
The Companion Books contain eight-week lesson plans for the delivery of each sport. Companion Books and DVDs can be purchased from the ASC website.
Leaders need to receive appropriate training from their Secondary or Primary Coordinators. There is an initial 6-hour training program, followed by practical sessions during which the Leaders gain valuable coaching, officiating and leadership skills (link to Sportsfun Training Programs).
Throughout the program, support and feedback is provided to the Sportsfun Leaders by all Coordinators.
