Visitors to Woodman Point Recreation Camp will now get a greater understanding of the history of where they are staying with the opening of a new interpretation centre.
The interpretation centre was opened on the 29 July 2009, and provides an insight into the history of the camp from when it was used for quarantine purposes until 1979.
The centre includes wall banners, artefacts from the era and an interactive display.
The centre is located in the main office and can be seen by clients during their stay onsite.
Developed in conjunction with The Friends of Woodman Point, the interpretation centre is one of the first steps in raising the importance of the historical value of Woodman Point.
Work will continue on highlighting this, bringing with it more opportunities to understand the history of Woodman Point, and its value to the area.
