The Information Centre contributes to the achievements of the Department of Sport and Recreation and the Western Australian sport and recreation industry by providing access to current, relevant and timely library services to members of sport and recreation communities and other interested people.
Collections
The Information Centre was established in 1974. Since then the collection has increased to include material on many subjects related to sport and recreation.
The collection contains: CD-Rom, conference proceedings, DVDs, electronic documents, local government reports, management resources, monographs, periodicals, theses and videotape resources. The library collection also covers a wide area of subjects including:

Current awareness services
The Information Centre provides various current awareness services which can assist you to keep up to date in the sport and recreation field. If you would like further information on these services please contact the Information Centre on 9492 9870.
Research services – The Information Centre is a research based library with access to the latest research in sport and recreation using databases such as SportDiscus and Medline.
New books – Material has been acquired in accordance with the Information Centre’s collection development policy. Recent acquisitions in the following subject areas include: physical fitness, strength training, government publications, leisure, recreation, Olympics, coaching, management, governance and material related to specific sports. Please view our latest acquisitions.
Resource links – These pages have been developed on specific subjects including Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and physical activity.
Interlibrary loan services – The Information Centre does provide document delivery services. Please complete the request form and return the form to the Information Centre by email or facsimile 08 9492 9711. If you are not a member of our library, you may borrow items on Inter-Library Loan through a library you are affiliated with.
