Passport into Schools coverThe JSF replaces the National Junior Sport Policy (1994) implemented by the Australian Sport Commission.

The vision for junior sport in Australia is to provide safe and enjoyable environments to encourage the long-term participation of young people.

The vision is based on the belief that, when presented and organised properly, sport:

  • makes a significant contribution to the physical, psychological and social well being of young people
  • is an effective way of producing benefits for both the individual and Australian society

The department has developed nine booklets that detail components of the JSF. These form a part of the club development booklets which provide clubs with a range of information on the best practice for running clubs.
